Hetauda is a sub-metropolitan city in the Makwanpur District of the Narayani Zone of southern Nepal. It is the administrative headquarters of the Makwanpur District and the current headquarters of Nepal’s Central Development Region. It is interim state capital of province no.3. It is one of the largest cities of Nepal.

Situated in the confluence of the two prominent national highways viz. Tribhuvan highway and Mahendra highway, Hetauda sub-metropolitan city is one of the most happening destinations of the nation. The heady mixture of the unique culture proudly preserved and diverse ethnicities makes Hetauda an ideal place for the development. Hetauda has been long established as an industrial estate of the nation and it holds the important industry of the nation. It is often famous and regarded as “Green city” because the city has planted trees on either sides of the road and is the pioneer city in the plantation of the trees.

The Hetauda Industrial District is one of the biggest industrial districts in Nepal. It houses not only some of the biggest industries in the nation, but also cottage and medium-scale industries. Three of the major national paint factories are situated in H.I.D including Asian Paints, Berger, and Yeti Paints. However, because of political events in the past decade, HID has been shrinking year after year as industries either move to other countries or shut down. One of the most notable of these is the former Hetauda textile industry. Alongside to these features, Heatauda is also a suitable destination for higher education for many neighbouring places.
